Dr Sureka Yoganathan

Dr Sureka, graduated from Medicine in the University College of Dublin in 2006. In the years following her graduation Sureka worked in various specialties of hospital medicine including Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Medicine for the Elderly, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Oncology, Psychiatry and Genito-urinary medicine.

Sureka went on to complete her vocational training in General Practice with the Southwest GP training scheme and became a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2016.
​
Sureka is interested in all aspects of general practice but particularly enjoys Medicine for the Elderly, Chronic Disease Management and Women’s Health. She has completed further training in all of these fields and is experienced in the insertion and removal of intrauterine coils and contraceptive implants. Sureka is a registered cervical smear taker.

Sureka is originally from Sri Lanka and has lived in Ireland since 2000. She lives in Crossbarry with her husband and 2 children. She has been practicing medicine in Ireland since 2006 and has been working as a general practitioner in Bandon since 2016.
